filevault decrypt couldn't start decryption "err = -69755"

I've got a "paused" filevault decryption on OSX 10.10.5. (iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2011))

It was getting sluggish and so thought I would turn off filevault and it appears to have gotten stuck.

I've tried to follow a number of suggestions in other posts but not getting it to work.

What I tried:

1) reset pram, then reboot to recovery, use Disk Utility to unlock drive and then run repair.

2) reboot to recovery, use terminal to "fdesetup disable" in this case I get:

# sudo fdesetup disable

Password:

Enter a password for '/', or the recovery key:

.Error: couldn't start decryption: err = -69755

3) reboot to recovery, use terminal to "diskutil cs revert"

no luck

4) tried "fdesetup status" and get "FileVault is Off." ???? But from below list, encryption is still on and decryption is "paused"

5) running "diskutil cs list" gives:

So I'm stuck.

I don't want to delete and reinstall. There has to be an easier way?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Judging from your output from diskutil cs list, it appears your drive is no longer Revertible (Revertible: No). I'm thinking regarless what you try, you won't be able to revert it and will have to erase and restore or reinstall.

If it were me, I would clone my drive to an external USB drive then restart into the clone, erase my internal drive then clone back over to it. SuperDuper! and Carbon Copy Cloner are excellent cloning software and I think both have a trial period you can use. You can also clone without these if you have an external drive equal to or greater in size. Just restart into your internal drive's Recovery HD and use Disk Utility / Restore to the external drive. This does a block-copy which includes the Recovery HD. Then afterwards, repeat this same procedure only boot from the external's Recovery HD, launch Disk Utility, erase your internal drive and use Restore to restore from the external to the internal drive.
